2026 BUYER GUIDE
Size & Measurements
Letter sizes are not consistent between sellers. The safest comparison is between the listing's measurements and a similar item that already fits you.
Measure a reference garment
Lay the garment flat without stretching it. Measure chest width from armpit to armpit, shoulder width seam to seam, back length from the highest shoulder point, and sleeve length using the same method shown by the seller. For trousers, record waist width, rise, thigh, inseam and leg opening.
Read the chart correctly
- Check whether the chart uses centimetres or inches.
- Determine whether chest and waist figures show flat width or full circumference.
- Allow for the seller's stated manual-measurement tolerance.
- Consider the intended fit: slim, regular, oversized or cropped.
Shoes and insoles
Compare foot length with usable insole length, not only EU, US or UK labels. Insole measurements should usually include a small comfort allowance, but the suitable amount depends on shoe shape and personal preference. Wide feet may require additional width even when length is correct.
Sizing questions
Should I automatically size up?
No. "Size up" advice is inconsistent. Compare actual measurements and the intended fit.
Why do two charts use the same size differently?
Each seller may use a different pattern or grading system, so compare the numeric measurements for every listing.
